Boho Wedding at Rivington Barn, Bolton, Lancashire

I’ve been waiting for these pictures with baited breath since I saw the preview shots in June. I hope you agree they are well worth the wait! Amazing photos by Damian Brandon of beautiful people, venue and of course flowers. Gemma first came to see me on a dark cold February evening. I was taken by surprise when she request dried flowers for her bouquet and the bridesmaids headdresses. When I first started out in floristry, 25 years ago, dried flowers were all the rage. Its funny how fashions come around again! It was a perfect choice for Gemma though who wanted to create a boho vintage style wedding.

A friend of Gemma’s had made her an amazing bohemian style headdress from pheasant feathers and she wanted something to carry which would compliment it.

Gemma wanted dried gypsophila headdress for the little bridesmaids, we even made a ‘here comes the bride’ sign from hessian.

How cute!!

The maid of honour wore a mixed dried flower headdress using roses, broom, larkspur, lavender and grasses and we dried here at the shop.

The men wore boutonnieres of dried flowers, wheat and grasses.

For the venue, we mixed it up a bit. Using dried wheat sheaves for some table centres and wild flower jam jars on others.

For the top table, I made a MR & MRS bunting sign and we adorned the table with loads of fresh gyp and candles.

Gemma posted a really nice comment on our Facebook page before they went on honeymoon, “Thank you so so much for the flowers. I loved the bridal party flowers and the flowers for the room. They were perfect”, When they returned I received a lovely email “RE: Wedding Pics, I absolutely loved the flowers and decorations. You did an amazing job. I have my bouquet on the mantelpiece :-)”.

Best wishes for the future Gemma and Russ, it was a pleasure to be part of your wedding plans.
