We are now in the Good Florist Guide!

We have been accepted into the exclusive Good Florist Guide, the gold standard of floristry and the only merit-based guide to the finest florists in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Acknowledged as the ‘little black book’ of the very best British and Irish florists Wild & Wondrous were awarded the prestigious accolade last week. We are very proud and delighted.

No-one can buy their way into the Guide. To be part of it, florists undergo a rigorous evaluation process before being approved. We needed to submit a detailed description of our floristry business, including the range available and services offered as well as images of our shop, our design work, our team and even the delivery vehicle! It was then assessed by industry experts to ensure it met the strict criteria of not just offering gorgeous designs, but also the best service and value for bespoke floristry and flowers.

We really are delighted to be accepted into the Good Florist Guide. We are passionate about flowers, design, quality and the service we give to each of our customers so it is wonderful to have this recognised. It's also a personal achievement for me as we differ from other florist in our area by providing a more environmentally friendly product, giving conscientious customers in our area a choice.

People often ask me, "what is an eco florist?". Well in my opinion it's just a frame of mind and the knowledge to make small everyday decisions on what is more sustainable. For me this starts first thing in the morning when I buy flowers. I look for country of origin, the farm which grow the flowers and the transport methods. I could tell you where the majority of flowers originate in my shop. But for me it's packaging that is definitely the floristry industries nemesis. Wild & Wondrous don't use cellophane unless it's necessary. We probably use a metre a week. 99.9% of all our packaging is either biodegradable or recyclable.

I am in the process of collating more information on the sustainability of the floristry industry for a couple of workshops the British Florist Association have asked me to hold for other florist at the 2019 Vision Conference. I will post a few more in depth blogs on the subject soon.

Wild & Wondrous would like to thank all our customers who have supported us since we opened. Its due to your support we have been able to produce beautiful gifts, tributes and wedding flowers week in week out.
